Inkjet and Printer Components

Inkjet

The inkjet printer (ink jet) to the middle spray very small quantities of ink, usually a few picoliters. For color applications including photo printing, the ink jet methods are dominant, as the high quality printers are inexpensive to produce. Copier Repair will help you with your needs.

Virtually all inkjet printers are color devices, some known as photo printers include extra pigments better reproduction of the color range required for printing high-quality photos (and are additionally capable of printing on photo paper in contrast to ordinary office paper).

The inkjet printers consist of injectors which produce very small bubbles of ink droplets become tiny ink. The dots are formed of small size pixels. Inkjet printers can print text and high quality graphics almost silent.

Methods for ejecting the ink

Thermal Method

An electrical pulse produces an increase in temperature (about 480 ° C during microseconds) boils a small amount of ink in a chamber to form a vapor bubble which forces its output by the injectors. When you go outside, the vapor condenses and forms a tiny drop of ink on paper. Then, the resulting vacuum draws ink into the camera new. This method has the disadvantage of greatly limiting the life of the injectors, is why these injectors are in the ink cartridges.

Method piezoelectric

Each injector is formed by a piezoelectric element that, upon receiving an electrical impulse, changes shape suddenly increasing pressure inside the inkjet head causing ink particle.

Injection cycle is faster than the heat. Inkjet printers have a much lower initial cost than laser printers, but have a much higher cost per page, as the ink needs to be replaced frequently.

Inkjet printers are also slower than laser printers also have the disadvantage of leaving pages to dry before they can be handled aggressively, early handling can cause the ink (which is attached to the page in liquid form) is moves.

Solid ink (Solid Ink)

Solid ink printers, also called phase change, are a type of thermal transfer printer but uses solid sticks of CMYK color ink (similar in consistency to candle wax). The ink is melted and fed to a printing head operated by a piezoelectric crystal (such as quartz).

The head distributes the ink in a greased drum. The paper then passes onto the drum while the image is transferred to paper. They are commonly used as color printers in offices as they are excellent using transparencies and other non-porous, and can get great results.

The acquisition and use costs are similar to laser printers. The disadvantages of this technology are the high energy consumption and long waiting periods (heating) of the machine.

There are some users who complain that writing is difficult on solid ink prints (the wax tends to repel ink pens), and are difficult to feed paper automatically, but these traits have been significantly reduced in the latest models.

In addition, this type of printer is only available from one manufacturer, Xerox, as part of its line of office printers Xerox Phaser. Previously, solid ink printers were manufactured by Tektronix, but sold its printing to Xerox in 2000.

Notes to the printers

Printers memories
Carry printers internal memory. They range from 8KB in dot matrix printers to at least 1MB in laser printers.
Sell laser currently in independent memory modules to expand the capacity of the same. Memory is used as a buffer and as permanent and semi-permanent storage. Besides its use is necessary because the treatment of vector graphics and the design of bitmap fonts consume memory.

The buffer is used to hold print jobs remain active and is used to store design and data sources. Keep in mind that to try printing a page document must be entirely stored in memory. The memory performance depends on both the operating system and the printer driver settings.

Printer Connection

Connecting the printer to the computer has evolved leading to improved printing performance and user comfort. The oldest form was via serial connection where the transfer is to bit by bit, allowing long distances at slow speeds that did not exceed 19,200 bytes / second.

He rose to the parallel port connection which transfers were byte for byte allowing eight parallel connections getting faster speed between 0.5 MB / sec to the 4MB/second. The downside was the distance limitation of the cable connecting the printer to the computer because it does not allow a greater length of two meters.

Another form of connection is achieved by putting the printer on Ethernet network through RJ 45 based on the IEEE 802.3 standard. The speeds achieved over 10 Mb / second based on packet handling. Not to be confused with a shared printer as network printers operate as a network element with its own IP address.

Another current method of connection is through USB (Universal Serial Bus). The speed is back with 480Mb/segundo improve with the advantages that come with USB port: support for multiple systems and the possibility of using portable devices.

Finally, Wi-Fi, using IEEE 802.11, being the newest. It reaches 300 Mb / second and works for inkjet printers, laser or multifunction. Although getting less speed than USB connected, the wifi provide advantages such as autonomy, user mobility and freedom without the use of cables. For the proper use and prevent unwanted access we encrypt the network.

Printing speed

The speed of the first printing unit is measured in characters per second. Most modern printers are measured in pages per minute. These measures are used primarily as a marketing tool and not well standardized.

Usually pages per minute as regards monochrome documents rather than documents with dense drawings printed normally much slower. Cartridges, ink cartridges and paper much like the ink and paper are three essential elements to make copies with a printer, and know how to choose the most appropriate depending on the type of printing to be carried out may increase the performance of our printer to the limit.

Cartridges For laser printers, the cartridge life depends on the amount of toner that contains and when the toner runs out, the cartridge must be replaced. In the event that the cartridge and the OPC (photoconductive sensing member) are in separate compartments, when the toner runs only cartridge is replaced, but in the case that the OPC is within the cartridge must be changed both increasing considerable expense.

The situation is more critical in the case of color laser printers. In the ink jet printers cartridge life depends on the length of the ink, although many cartridges can be refilled again helping to reduce the expense of buying a new one but overuse can cause a cartridge to perform your prints with reduced quality. Ink

Printer Ink Types

Slow drying ink penetrating : Mainly used for monochrome printers.

Quick Dry Ink : Used in color printers, since in these printers, inks mixed in different colors and they have to dry quickly to avoid distortion.

Potential printing problems

Paper Problems If you are not careful in selecting the correct paper type for the printer or at the time of placing the role may be minor glitches. Maybe the misplacement of paper in the printer does not detect the paper, for which it will suffice to place well.

This poor positioning or poor choice of paper can also lead to the impression that during a jam occurs because the printer has taken several sheets at a time, so you should be careful when placing the paper in Tray and should not be overloaded with a lot of paper this tray.

Ink Problems Sometimes when printing documents or photographs may appear horizontal bands that make worse the quality of printing. Although this problem can be occasionally associated with a poor choice of paper is usually due to problems of ink inkjet prints.

One possible cause is the configuration of print quality, since the document may require a higher quality setting of the printer. Other possible causes may be that the ink cartridge is low or dirty heads or you may bring your item to any Copier Repair.
